Clarify what video practice should test
AI video interview practice free can mean a camera-based mock, feedback on a transcript or an interview bot with a speaking avatar. Confirm the format you want. This page provides a free rehearsal routine and prompts; it is not a video recorder or AI scoring application. Use a camera app you trust and an optional AI service whose access and privacy terms you understand.
Cluegent is a desktop assistant with typed prompts and user-controlled inputs. It does not become an autonomous video interviewer because you follow this guide. You can run the routine without the app. The purpose is to notice what you say, how you support it and whether the camera setup distracts you.
Make a local rehearsal recording
- Use your device's camera app and confirm where the recording is saved.
- Check the microphone with a short sentence and listen back.
- Place the camera where you can look toward it without straining.
- Close notifications and remove private documents from the background.
- Record one answer, then stop and review it before doing another.
Record yourself rather than another person unless you have appropriate permission. A local recording can still be synced by cloud backup settings. Check that behavior before using private information. You do not need to upload the video to practise a clear answer.
Use this original three-question rehearsal
- Introduce the experience most relevant to this role.
- Describe a project problem and your own contribution to resolving it.
- Explain what you would change if you repeated the work.
Answer each question before reading a model outline. After the project answer, challenge one claim: what did you personally test or decide? This follow-up helps distinguish a memorized paragraph from an example you understand. Use only your actual evidence; the question list is not a prediction of an employer's interview.
Review the transcript before asking for feedback
Write or transcribe the answer with a tool you trust. Remove personal identifiers. Ask an AI service: ‘Check this answer for relevance, unclear responsibility and unsupported facts. Quote the sentence that needs revision. Use the project notes below as the only source of truth. Do not infer personality or hiring potential from my face or voice.’
Compare the feedback with the free mock interview scorecard. If a score rises after you add an invented metric, reject the change. The purpose of feedback is to identify a concrete correction, not to produce a flattering number. Automated scores are not the employer's assessment.
Correct one sentence and record again
Our fictional student says, ‘We built an amazing app and solved all the bugs.’ The sentence gives no evidence of personal work. A clearer revision is, ‘I tested the booking form and found an invalid time range. I showed the input to my teammate and helped document the validation rule.’ The second answer is specific and can support a follow-up.
Record the revised answer without reading the wording. Check whether you still name your contribution and can explain the input that exposed the issue. Keep the first attempt long enough to compare, then delete recordings you no longer need using the application's normal controls.
Adapt the routine to the actual interview format
A recorded employer interview may have fixed response times and different retry rules. A live video interview can include follow-ups and shared screens. Ask the employer which format applies and use its instructions. This free rehearsal does not determine assessment rules or authorize outside assistance.
For answer drafting, use the free evidence-first prompts. For a spoken mock, read the practice guide and choose a service that supports the format. Check fees before uploading or recording material in any hosted tool.
Keep the practice separate from an assessment
Check the interviewer's rules before using a tool in a real session. A private overlay does not establish permission or guarantee invisibility on every platform. If outside assistance is prohibited, close the assistant and rely on the preparation you completed beforehand. Ask consent before capturing another person's speech where required. Remove confidential client details and personal identifiers from practice material.
Try Cluegent on Windows or macOS. Check current trial and paid plans first. Prepare with redacted material and use live assistance only where permitted, with required consent for capture and transcription.
