AI interview guide

How to Use AI During a Coding Interview

AI support is most useful in coding interviews when it helps you structure the approach, explain tradeoffs, debug visible code, and communicate clearly.

Use AI for structure first

Ask for the brute force approach, optimized approach, edge cases, time complexity, and a short explanation you can speak naturally.

Use screenshots when code is visible

When the editor, problem, test failure, or stack trace is on screen, screenshot context is faster and less error-prone than retyping everything.

Do not skip fundamentals

You still need to understand data structures, language behavior, complexity, and debugging. Use Cluegent to organize thinking, not to replace it.

Stay within interview rules

Only use AI assistance, transcription, or screenshots when the hiring process allows it.

Where Cluegent helps

Cluegent supports permitted live workflows with transcript context, typed prompts, screenshot-aware answers, resume context, custom response behavior, quick action buttons, and a private desktop overlay. It is most useful when you already understand the subject and need help staying structured under pressure.
